The opportunities

Competitors were mobilizing, and fast. They needed to step it up if they were to stand a chance in a rapidly evolving market.

Upskill their UX Literacy

Early on, we identified there was a great opportunity to upskill the Managemyhealth team in their UX literacy & maturity.

Our approach

We took the time to carefully plan out and tailor an approach that would allow us to meet them where they were at, identify problems, plan ahead, rapidly design solutions, and get them to market as soon as we possibly could — whilst crossing each “T” & dotting every “I”.

The solutions

We ended up with a radical transformation of the existing product at the end of the 12 weeks.

With our approach, we could identify and tackle a number of focus areas that were given undivided attention over each sprint and resulted in speedy & effective solutions.

Time for a check-up

Our first step was to review health clinics and patient habits, analyse data around medical statistics and health factors, and utilise various research techniques including focus groups and one-on-one interviews to understand the target audience. We also began co-designing in workshops with patients who precisely fit the profile. To get the most from them when they use MMH on their devices - booking an appointment, checking their health metrics, and online check-ups!

A centralised and robust design system

To kick things off, we took a sprint to build the MMH Design System. This is a branded, robust, & expansive library of digital building blocks to create products from. We established the digital brand in a Foundations File, which then flowed through into building a massive library of Components. This grew with each sprint, allowing us to solve major problems and design key features in more focused chunks of work that made up the wider product.

The code was also architected so that all features were independent, making it possible to add or remove them as the requirements changed - without breaking the system

The modern health companion

With the development of a new brand, we knew that the digital visual identity for Manage My Health also had to be created from scratch and feel different from traditional booking systems - providing a simple interface used across devices, either at home or the clinic, that will display the information only when needed, warm, inclusive, inviting and safe environment for all its users.

Booking an online appointment made easy

Booking a doctor appointment has always been a time-consuming and stressful process for patients. Long wait times on the phone, complicated online booking systems, and unavailability of preferred doctors are some of the common pain points that patients face. With just a few clicks, patients were able to search for their preferred doctor, view available appointment slots, and confirm their booking in real-time.

Letting patients know when things are right, or wrong.

We understood the importance of communicating the right health information for patients, therefore at every opportunity, we took the chance to inject emotion and heart into the interface, micro status elements helped us to communicate the status of the information and drive patients to the right action and support.
